A number of exotic captive animals, including monkeys, big cats, and snakes are present worldwide
We had several problems to choose from, but we decided to attempt to solve the problem of identifying animals in captivity, because we felt that is the most important issue between the proposed problem statements. This problem called for an innovative solution to stop this trade and identify these exotic animals.
Our solution is a whistleblower app that allows users to send images of the captive exotic animals they observe by taking a picture with iPythonHunt application. The user creates an account, and each user will have a profile where the past submission will be displayed . Along with the app, a drone will be able to provide overhead surveillance and record where illegal activities are taking place. The information captured by the drone would be send to our application and it would process this footage and identify objects such as humans, vehicles, animals, and labels them and sends it to the authorities.
