Inspiration
In the past, studying bird migrations and populations has always been a articularly grueling tasking, requiring the resercher to manually record bird observations on a spreasheet. Our project seeks to take advantage of the extreme popularity of amateur birdwatching to revolutionalize ornithological research by connecting the data generated by amateur birdwatching to scientists worldwide.
What it does
Our IOT birdhouse seeks to automate the process of birdwatching and mantaining a birdhouse with different servos and motors which control feed dispension, bird detection, photography, along with integration with a webapp.
How I built it
We used raspberry pi along to connect everything via internet and wood for the general framework.
What's next for IOT Birdhouse
Smaller form factor, solar panel roof for power, temperature/himudity sensor, integration with eBird.
