Inspiration
Healthcare monitoring systems for the elderly have grown in popularity, so user-friendly health monitoring system based on advanced technology is now the main concern in all countries around the world.
What it does
The proposed system provides a smart health care solution for the needs of patients to monitor their body parameters in real-time regardless of their location. The device collects data from a safe environment using three sensors: Max30100 a heart rate sensor to measure pulse rate and oxygen concentration in blood, DS18B20 a body temperature sensor sends over a wifi module ESP8266. The current status of the patients is communicated to the concerned person or medical personnel over a cloud-based server, to visualize and analyze real-time data. When the set threshold value reaches, an alarm will activate and send a notification via email or text to the concerned person. The error percentage for all test cases within certain limitations came out to be less than 4%. The proposed system fulfills the requirements of a health monitoring system in today’s scenario.
How we built it
The proposed system's key concept is continuous online patient tracking. As a result, the three-stage architectural features of the healthcare monitoring:
Sensor Integration
The sensors are connected and use physiological signs to gather data from the body keeping ideal environmental conditions.
Data Processing Module The data is then processed using an ESP32 module before being sent to server for data visualization.
Web User Interface For User interfacing with data on the web applications, ThingSpeak is used for better accessibility and visualization of data in the web user interface. The current status and method of transactions are shown by ThingSpeak.
Challenges we ran into
Time managing issues The sensor is first checked for design or wiring flaws. The temperature sensor should be left in a room without being disturbed for at least 30 minutes for an optimal check, and the reading should be close to the room temperature reading that is tested with other calibrated devices.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I integrated the whole prototype in 24 hours with prior experience and sensor condition is optimist.
What's next for IoT based solution healthcare monitoring system
The technology used in the proposed system is very recent, and the sensor used in the system is very efficient, compact, and easy to record the data. The sensors have a long lifespan and are inexpensive compared to the industrial device of similar approach. I am going to build this prototype to the industrial level.
