Inspiration
All over Europe EV adaption has taken off. In the biggest and greenest European cities there are chargers nearly on every street. Since Latvia is falling behind this trend, we would like to be the ones who help to solve this problem. We see the solution as an access anywhere, anytime, service.
What it does
Our solution takes care of apartment buildings in outer Riga regions, who currently have near to non charging options.
How we built it
We attach a simple, slow-charging station to already existing infrastructure like street lamps. We allow anybody with an EV to use this service at any point of the day.
Challenges we ran into
- Getting to the know how's of city council logistics
- A cost-efficient business model
- Logistics of the starting point ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
What we learned
1.Which challenge are you submitting your idea in? (Remember that you can opt in for no challenge) We are challenging energy. 2.Define the problem you are solving? In 2035 there will be a lot of EVs, but some owners will have limited opportunities to charge them- for example people who live in apartments. We are solving the problem of EV charging in outer Riga regions for apartment buildings. While at the same time educating the society of the benefits of using and adapting to EVs. 3.Describe your idea and solution? We use a small charger and attach it to current electrical infrastructure. We are client oriented and have a user friendly interface. At the mean time we are tackling future electricity grid problems, and explaining common misinformation about EVs. 4.What did you manage to build during the hackathon? *A website *Feedback from a strategic partner (Liepaja municipality) *Competitive and cost efficient business model *Market penetration strategy *A strategy to also educate and inform people 5.Did you have anything ready before the hackathon? No, only the idea and some thoughts about how to start. 6.Please mention all your teammates and their responsibilities during the hackathon? Ilze Kreicberga Zane Veinberga Juta Irbe Uldis Irbe Daniels Strods Mikelis Janis Benuzs 7.Links to code or any other useful materials? Unfortunately, we can't send the code.
