Inspiration
I'm a fitness enthusiast, so I decided to do research on how to help those who want to start living a healthier lifestyle.
What it does
The purpose of the app is to provide a both home workouts for privacy and convenience, as well as the ability to register for classes to prevent overcrowding.
How I built it
I've been able to do research through interviews, competitor analysis, card sorting, and usability testing. I started creating the wireframes, and the working prototype will follow.
Challenges I ran into
It was difficult to find people who fit my target audience, so went on to interview those that came close to what I was looking for: people who do not go to the gym. Listening to what this audience had to say gave me insight on what motivates them to do kickboxing or do yoga, as well as where and how often they do these activities.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
It's only been 5 weeks since the start of this project, and there was a lot of work to be done. There were days where I felt overwhelmed, but I had to find ways to adapt and make what I have work.
What I learned
Connecting with others UX Designers was great in that they provided feedback of what they would want, and how I could improve it. Sometimes, the answers were not what I wanted to hear, but the user is the main focus to improve any experience.
What's next for InVision - Fitness App
The wireframes and prototypes are next steps of the project. Once that is complete, I'll be looking for a new task to challenge me and keep me learning on top of what I currently know about User Experience Design.
When you stop learning, you stop growing. I am a Forever Learner :)
