Inspiration
Growing up in a household of 5 my mom was a serious business woman. The only problem is she could start many businesses in a month. The best thing is she always found a way to provide but it wasn't easy growing up. A trail of failed business to show for that. While studying I have alway wanted to find a way to improve the lives of people who have encountered what I have.
What it does
Invisa is not just another SME digitization tool. Imagine Siri but optimised for a small business owners companion. with the ability to act as a voice business coach, an online shop-store manager, automated cashflow monitoring tool, business health tracker and allow businesses to get tokenised credit access.
How we built it
We have used multiple technologies to bring this solution to life. we have leveraged: AI, voice, blockchain and human-centred designs . We have built using gemini via lovable API as we used lovable to prototype and we have since continued to improve the product there as we scale in early stages. we are still building the product but we have already done two pilot programs onboarding over 367 businesses recently and in the last month we pushed a freemium model converting 70 paying cusstomers in the first month. We had a waitlist of the most ideal customer profiles which made it a success.
Challenges we ran into
Woww. We have quite had our struggles. Personally I was shut down by NSE in an early project where I was building an AI powered stock trading app when they demanded 187,000 for market data access for even the sandbox. We had an very clear ethicalplan to get it done. Innovation lost that day. We have bootstrapped through that to achieve 70 paying customers for the first month. We are ready to scale but the revenue is still too low to get us the right momentum to get us where we want.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have a few standout moments in this exhilarating journey. We won the Hult prize campus Kenyatta University and proceeded to Hult prize nationals where we can second to Signverse. We lost but we still remain outstanding. we have been featured as the Most promising Start up in Chandaria Innovation centre where we have been incubated for the last 10 months
What we learned
We quickly learnt one thing. The future of tech is voice. with dashboards the app usage was low but with the new voice update users engage the app more. The concentration is low and voice is the future of saas.
What's next for Invisa
Scale. We also learnt that momentum, speed and execution is all that fuels all the successful startup. To create trust and the momentum to be big enough to achieve organic growth and sustainability we need to scale and that's where I believe this hackathon will be game-changing for us. We want to showcase what we have built and win funds to put our platform of every small business owner before we scale to Nigeria as we have identified it as a very servicable but underserved market.
