Inspiration
Our inspiration is the innate nature of ever evolving market design. In a field that success arises as a result of diligent work, we wanted to enrich our understanding of economical landscape as we partipate to the HackaTUM. This algorithmic process integrates various aspects of Market Maker philosophy to tackle challenges brought forth by the other parties of market.
What it does
InvesTUM allows sustainable energy markets to outshine ages old Oil Market by providing liquidity to this dynamic space.
How we built it
We utilized Optiver's introductory package for this special occasion. By using their toolkit and APIs, we were able to prioritize high PnL while entertaining viable alternatives of a given market condition.
Challenges we ran into
One of the most difficult aspect of this challenge is to develop algorithms that not only improves the sustainable market to a liquid state but also allows Market Makers to profit to sustain their service for this greater cause. That is why, as in many great challenges, the difficulty lies within greater ideas.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our most important achievement was being in the lead for more than 30 minutes in the challenge during rush hour on Saturday. In addition to that, we are proud of what we learned in this limited time in varying topics. Coming from non economical backgrounds, we, the computer scientists, were able to develop a well performing model in short period of time.
What we learned
Algorithmic investing and market design are the fields that took our interest and that played a crucial role for us to select and progress in this project. Hence, we learned the foundations of these interesting topics as well as group project management for algorithmic applications.
What's next for InvesTUM
We are planning to pursue our newly found interest by participating in other hackathons as well as learn different sets of algoirthms in the field of algorithmic investing. Our team will move forward to become versatile computer scientists and will achieve greater hights due to their experience in HackaTUM
