Inspiration
We have always been interested in the intersection between AI and the financial world. After realizing how common it is with professionals, we felt a need to be able to bring a service that utilizes AI that everyday people can use.
What it does
Investor Center uses AI to gather quantitative data, give a qualitative analysis based on earnings transcripts, a risk assessment using standard deviation, and a projected Monte Carlo Simulation in order to give users a complete outlook over the respective stock.
How we built it
We used Django for the backend and frontend. We used BeautifulSoup for the web-scraping, Yahoo Finance API for the quantitative analysis, and Anthropic Claude API for the qualitative analysis. It was written in Python, Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring Claude had a good analysis for the qualitative data required more extensive prompt engineering than previously planned.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The custom build Monte Carlo simulation is something that we spent a lot of time on as well as the entire 4 step process which truly ensures a complete outlook and overhaul of the respective stock.
What we learned
We learned how AI could be better used in the finance space as well as issues that everyday investors face that could be quelled by the use of AI, analysis , and simulations.
What's next for Investor Center
We hope to be able to host different types of investing assets, bonds, etfs, crypto, as well as support other types of investing portfolios.
