Inspiration

The stock market is full of opportunities. However understanding the nitty gritty of the stock market is a complicated task.
The market has evolved into a complex beast in terms of size and volume and therefore predicting market trends is an important factor which will help users in making decisions for smarter investments.
Our project Investonomy solves this problem by using AI powered financial recommendations which aid in making an individual's investment strategies more lucrative than ever!

What it does

Stock price prediction: Stock Price Prediction using machine learning will help in discovering the future value of company stock and other financial assets traded on an exchange.
Mutual fund analysis: Predicting whether a mutual fund scheme is good or bad using ML techniques.
Algorithmic trading Algorithmic trading that automates the trading process using various technical indicators that will maximize the profits of an individual.

Challenges we ran into

We had to study a lot of financial terminologies in order to make our project relevant.
While implementing algo trading we faced a challenge on how to run the algo trading script concurrently with our Django application which we later solved using threading.
Building generalized model for predicting multiple stocks was a difficult task.
We had to devote a lot of time in designing a good UI in order to make our application seamless.

Accomplishments we are proud of

We are satisfied that our implementation was completed in stipulated time although we still have a lot to improve upon.
Our UI is very intuitive and we have tried our best to include interactive visualizations which will help the user in better understanding.

What's next for Investonomy?

We will try to include chatbots for advanced personalization and interaction with the user. Also we will explore new trading strategies which will maximize the net returns of the user.
