Inspiration
We see so many people trying to invest with little to no knowledge and/or experience in the field. Obviously, the end up losing money. With Investment Sim, we aim to change that.
What it does and how we did it
Investment Sim provides the infrastructure for a risk-free stock-trading environment. We have a complex and functional database format built with Prisma.js and Postgresql which allows for people to easily and quickly implement a user system (Remix.run Blue Stack) and also a detailed portfolio and several other investment based fields. Additionally, Investment Sim has a combination of working functions and non-functioning reference code snippets to allow the quick implementation of whatever the end-user wants to make with it.

Challenges we ran into
We encountered several issues with our API, such as a total loss of functionality. Additionally, we didn't know how to create a database that would serve our purpose well. We were able to solve both of these. Our largest issue, however, was overestimating what we would be able to get done. We were hoping to do a full simulator with cryptocurrency support, but we decided to pivot to infrastructure that could support that.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our ability to pivot halfway through when it became apparent we couldn't do our original project, and our extremely in depth database
What we learned
We learned the extent of our ability, and a lot about Prisma.js.
What's next for Investment Sim
We are thinking about actually using our infrastructure to create our original project idea, and also make it more readable and understandable (what's what, etc)
