Inspiration

Managing personal finances often feels fragmented—budgeting in one app, investments in another, fraud alerts buried in emails. We wanted to create a single intelligent copilot that unifies all of it and makes financial decisions simpler and smarter.

What it does

Budget Copilot analyzes spending patterns, flags suspicious activity in real time, and optimizes investment portfolios based on personalized risk profiles. It turns raw financial data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.

How we built it

We built a FastAPI backend powered by Snowflake for data processing and fraud detection. On the frontend, we used React + TypeScript for a responsive dashboard. We integrated portfolio optimization models, Monte Carlo simulations, and automated budget tracking to give users a 360° view of their finances.

What we learned

We learned how to bridge traditional finance workflows with modern AI tooling—especially how powerful real-time analytics can be when combined with user-friendly interfaces. We also deepened our understanding of data security, fraud modeling, and cloud-native app design.

What's next for investment extension to pocket accountant

We plan to extend the investment module, enabling automated goal-based investing, tax-optimized suggestions, and smart cash flow planning. Think of it as your always-on financial strategist—right in your pocket.
