Inspiration

We wanted to make financial and utility applications more accessible, inclusive, and efficient. Many users face long verification times or struggle with complex forms — especially those with disabilities or limited digital literacy. We set out to create a seamless, voice-enabled, and secure onboarding experience that empowers every user to apply confidently.

What it does

InvestIQ enables users to:

  • Sign in instantly with Google OAuth
  • Use Eleven Labs TTS and accessibility tools for a fully voice-interactive dashboard and chat assistant
  • Autocomplete addresses and forms quickly
  • Upload ID and utility documents for AI-powered facial recognition verification through Veriff (results in ~6 seconds)
  • Get instant application acceptance upon verification, or go through a manual review in about two days

How we built it

We combined a modern web stack using Next.js with a Postgres Database for storage. Integrations include Google OAuth, Eleven Labs TTS, and Veriff's facial recognition API for identity checks. We deployed the frontend with Vercel, leveraged GCP / AWS for document storage, and designed accessibility and voice flows to ensure everyone can use it smoothly.

Challenges we ran into

  • Managing secure document uploads and real-time verification responses
  • Balancing speed vs. accuracy in facial recognition
  • Ensuring WCAG-compliant accessibility across browsers and screen readers
  • Handling API rate limits and asynchronous verification updates
  • Designing an intuitive user flow for both instant and manual review cases
