Inspiration

Our Inspiration In most cases, small and medium scale business face a serious problem of mismanagement of stock.

Scenario 1: A buyer A goes to the local store to buy a certain product, but when he gets there he is told to come back next time because the seller just realized that that product is out of stock.

Scenario 2: A seller B is complaining about how a particular product has been in stock for months and no one seems to buy, but in reality this seller keeps on filling an already full stock, so no matter how many people buy from her, the stock always seems full.

Basing on the scenarios mentioned above, our team decided to create a solution that will not only help sellers record their transactions in a secure way, but also help them keep track of their stock in a real-time manner.

What it does

Our solution is designed to help a business person track his/her business transactions from his mobile devices. The user is able to register new products in the system, record sales and purchase transactions and access the transaction history from any given time just by navigating the user interface.

How we built it

On day 1, our team first brainstormed the idea and then built the blue-print of how everything was supposed to turn out. We divided the different tasks amongst ourselves, so as to operate faster. On day 2, each one of us worked on their respective tasks. And lastly, on day 3, we all committed our respective tasks GitHub and did the final touches.

Challenges we ran into

As a team, The first challenge we faced was due to limited knowledge on the issue we were trying to solve as all our work was mainly based on our own observation due to having little to no time for research.

The second challenge we faced was managing the pressure that comes with working on a big project in a small amount of time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As a team, we are very proud of having been able to develop a project demo in a short time but yet the demo is able to that clearly demonstrates that our solution can work despite having been created with the most basic information on the stock management field. And we are very confident that when given enough time we can take this project to the next level.

Our team learnt how to use the allocated time to accomplish a project demo in a timely manner.

Each one of our team members learnt something new and valuable from the rest. And we believe these new skills will benefit us in our respective fields. It was the first time for each one of us to participate in a hackathon and its been a great place to learn how to cope with the extreme pressure of time
