Why we built it
Physical invention work is fragmented across notebooks, patent portals, CAD folders, and manufacturing conversations. InventionHub turns that journey into one inspectable workspace for inventors and small teams.
What it does
- Structures rough invention notes into a reviewable disclosure.
- Shows explainable prior-art overlap, source links, and possible differentiators.
- Keeps files, a bill of materials, prototype steps, collaborators, licensing, and manufacturing readiness together.
- Connects the inventor's next decision to a practical small-business workflow.
Gemini and Google-first workflow
The disclosure route has an explicit Gemini generateContent lane that returns structured JSON when GEMINI_API_KEY is configured. The public demo remains deterministic without credentials, so judges can run it safely. A Google Cloud deployment can provide the runtime and secret configuration while the app preserves the same human-review boundary.
Responsible operations
The product uses possible-novelty language and clearly states that prior-art results are informational, not legal advice. Manufacturing interest is not a contract. The current package is a pre-revenue pilot: revenue is $0, there are no arms-length customers yet, and the user evidence is an honest zero-user baseline rather than invented traction. The next validation step is a small inventor cohort.
Build notes
This vertical slice uses TypeScript, React, a Next-compatible server route, seeded demo records, and accessible responsive views. Codex/ChatGPT assisted with scaffolding and documentation; the implementation and claims remain the entrant's responsibility.
