Inspiration
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum inspired us by giving us the chance to create a website or app that includes the concept of Dare, Explore, and Disrupt. This opportunity given to us inspired us to create a a website that shows and illustrates the history of the Intrepid, allowing users to explore the history of the aircraft carrier.
What it does
Our website, "Intrepid Tour", helps researches and readers explore the inside and the outside of the Museum. This website gives a tour and shows general images of the The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. This website is useful for the people who are interested or curious about the history which could encourage them to visit the Museum themselves. Moreover, it could even be more useful for the people visiting the museum to help them make the most of their time in their visit.
How we built it
In order to create and to complete our website, we used glitch, CSS, HTML, and Javascript. We first brainstormed a bunch of ideas and picked one. Then, we researched our ideas where each member had a role. For example, one member researched the history of the ship, while another looked into the different roles that were taken in the past by the Intrepid. While some members were researching, the other members were making a wire frame as a prototype. Finally, once each group completed each task, we integrated the research with the wire frame to create our website that we wanted to make.
Challenges I ran into
In our perspectives, we had trouble with the making the box in order to click on the image and the pop up information. Furthermore, one of our members were a little frustrated because he was unable to create his project as he wanted to but then he was able to fix it
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We were able to complete and create our website as a team.
What I learned
We learned how new codes that helped us fix our problems. For example, we used java script to create the box in order to click on the image and the pop up information.
What's next for Intrepid Tour
The future of "Intrepid Tour" will include translators in order to allow people all around the world to access it. Additional, we likely to have deck cuts for the lower levels, like the engine rooms, the crew quarters and etc. We also think having Virtual reality will be very helpful for people be able to explore the Intrepid from anywhere of the world.
