Into the Wild
Our group was inspired by the book "Into the Wild" by Jon Krakauer. We built our project using Godot and GIMP (GIMP being used for the sprite work.) We decided to go a very simple route considering most of our group is new to Hackathons and doesn't have experience with web development. The game itself is a 2D side-scroller where the character moved between different game areas to explore and interact with objects. There isn't a clear "win condition," but there are several lose conditions... It's meant to be considered more as a piece of art than a game you would play for fun. The main challenges encountered were learning how to use Godot and GIMP. In terms of technical complexity, the "interaction system" in the game is probably the most in-depth.
