Inspiration
I wanted to capture the magic of Halloween night — that strange balance of fear and fun. Shadows Come to Play was inspired by other spooky or halloween themed songs so I wanted to make my own into something playful and mysterious.
What It Means
The song imagines a world where the shadows themselves come alive — a metaphor for the side of us that only dances when the lights go out. It’s meant to make people smile, move, and remember the thrill of the halloween season.
How It Was Created
The lyrics were written by myself with the help of chatgpt. The track was composed and produced in Suno, blending funk-rock guitar grooves, spooky synths, and theatrical vocals. The main character visuals were generated in Midjourney, I then used LTX Studio for the video and used the Midjourney character images in the LTX Studio Pro Actor Creator to create the singer. Then animated and added lip-synced lyrics to the character in Lemonslice.com. The fire ring around the inset singer, I made in Midjourney using the Animated Loop ability. I then manually edited the entire composition in Magix Movie Studio 2025 Suite to synchronize each layered element, scene pacing, atmospheric timing, and visual continuity, split screen video editing program effects, merging all sources into one complex, rhythmic cut.
Challenges & What I Learned
Coordinating multiple visual tools and syncing lyrical timing to a groove-based song took careful planning. I learned how to manually align layered animation to a musical beat, creating a seamless mix of eerie fun and visual rhythm.
