Inspiration

We were inspired by the feeling and significance notes on the margins holds, like how essense of life is in the small moments along with the major ones.

What it does

A digital space where you create chapters for your life phases - within those you write pages filled with your memories

How we built it

We used Figma to design and prototype our mobile app.

Challenges we ran into

There are so many journaling apps that focus on different things, such as mental health, mood recording, meditation, etc. We struggled to create a unique experience that inspires the user to record moments from their life that incited different feelings; therefore, we decided on margin notes and a journal look.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a digital interface that looks like an actual journal, as well as creating diverse interactions that make the user feel more connected to their journal.

What we learned

We learned how to create a comprehensive visual experience that enhances the physical experience of writing in a journal, and to create a visually appealing interface that engages the user.

What's next for InTheMargins

Allow users to share chapters with loved ones, export chapters as digital memory books, provide emotional trends over time, and expand on the design of adding a song to a chapter.
