Inspiration

We are beginner Android Studio developers, so we wanted to create an app that was not too complicated but not too simple at the same time. A currency converter app with a nice design seemed to be the perfect project for us to develop. Successfully completing this app has inspired us to work on bigger, more complex apps in the future.

What it does

It displays all currencies in a beautiful scroll view and converts them based on user input.

How we built it

We built it using Android Studio and Java. We took ideas from other open source projects and improved on them by making the app more efficient and user-friendly.

Challenges we ran into

Pushing and syncing code from Android Studio to Github was a challenge in the initial stages since some of the team members couldn't view the modified code, but we eventually solved it by using Stack Overflow.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We worked as a team and solved problems that we couldn't have achieved individually, such as a few aspects of the app XML and design. A list of textviews and buttonviews came into play in the app, and each team member contributed in a way to make all of them work smoothly.

What we learned

Teamwork is key to success, especially in a big computer science project.

What's next for IntEx

We plan to integrate more services into the app such as adding GPS Tracking and giving currency tips to the user based on their location. Another service we plan to add is a graph that displays currency data in the past how each one is changing, providing beneficial information of the current trend in the money market.
