Inspiration

Last Friday, while waiting for the Notion Hacker Pack to drop, one of our friends in the group was stressing about one of his upcoming interviews next week. And wanted to do a couple mock interviews so what we realized was that practice makes better and that we could make an app for this to help him and others to prepare and gain confidence in interviews.

What it does

It takes in your video feed, job posting requirements, your resume and does some market research about the company values, goals and current activities and tries to create an interview environment where you can practice answering your questions. It then takes your answers and takes them in and provides feedback on your answer (grading them with the Gemini API) by incorporating also the things that aren't included in what you said but how you said it which includes body language and facial expressions!

How we built it

Used OpenCV, Gemini's API, good ol' MERN and a whole lot of coffee.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges we ran into was integrating all of our components that we worked on separately in the last minute (certainly a hard lesson learned.) especially while deploying. Maybe next time we'll keep it smaller to make it easier to integrate features.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The computer vision working, deploying for the first time and the UI/UX looking great for a team who's its first time doing web development.

What we learned

It's best to focus on an MVP and to always have a pencil drawing of what the plan is and what connects where before you build the app.

What's next for Intervju

Integration of all the components hopefully.
