Inspiration: InterVista.ai was inspired by personal struggles and the challenge of effectively communicating a project, particularly when English is a second language. It aims to help professionals gain confidence while explaining their projects, sharing their experiences, and convincing recruiters to hire them.
What it Does: InterVista.ai conducts mock interviews where users can answer questions related to their career goals. Afterward, users can review their responses and receive feedback from the AI, which helps them identify areas for improvement and refine their interview skills.
How We Built It: We utilized the Gemini API to call a large language model (LLM), integrating it with Python libraries to create a web interface. This allowed us to build a seamless platform for conducting mock interviews and providing actionable feedback.
Challenges We Ran Into: One of the biggest challenges was hosting the website and ensuring the interface was smooth and user-friendly. Additionally, making the LLM output as accurate and relevant as possible was a complex task, requiring fine-tuning and testing to get the desired results.
Accomplishments We’re Proud Of: We built an end-to-end website that helps professionals prepare for interviews and achieve their career goals. The platform includes features like audio recording, allowing users to revisit their answers, evaluate their performance, and receive AI-generated feedback to improve their responses.
What We Learned: Throughout the project, we learned about integrating Generative AI, deploying software, and how technology can benefit society by helping individuals prepare for real-world opportunities. We also gained practical experience in web development and AI application.
What’s Next for InterVista.ai: Looking forward, we plan to extend the platform to focus on specific job roles like data science or data analysis positions. We also aim to implement video feedback, where users can record their interviews, and the AI will provide feedback on both their answers and body language, offering valuable insights for further improvement.
