Inspiration

Interviews are more than just answering technical questions—they test how well candidates communicate, adapt to unexpected challenges, and interact with others. We noticed that many job seekers struggle with this aspect of the hiring process or don’t know how to prepare effectively.

That’s why we built Interviewly, an AI-powered mock interview tool designed to help users practice in real-time, receive detailed feedback, and improve both their answers and communication skills.

What It Does

Interviewly simulates realistic job interviews with an AI agent that talks to users in real time. The AI:

Engages in dynamic conversations
Adapts questions based on user responses
Provides a detailed summary at the end
Highlights strengths and areas for improvement

This helps candidates build confidence and refine their approach before facing real interviews.

How We Built It

We combined multiple AI technologies to create an interactive and insightful interview experience:

11Lab Agents – For realistic AI-driven conversations
Lovable – Creating forntend
Fal.ai – Generating interviewer video
ChatGPT – Evaluation of candidate's response

The integration of these tools allowed us to build a smooth, engaging, and highly effective interview simulator.

Challenges We Ran Into

Building Interviewly came with its own set of challenges:

Fine-tuning AI responses – Ensuring conversations felt natural and engaging.
Real-time interaction – Balancing responsiveness and accuracy.
Generating meaningful feedback – Making sure the AI provides useful insights instead of generic advice.

Despite these hurdles, we continuously refined our approach and improved the system.
