Inspiration
So, I partipated in HackOrbit - a 36 hour NationWide Hackathon that happened between 9th July to 15th July, 2400+ participants, 600 + teams, and THIS was the winning product there. I, Shubham, initially started out as building just the InterviewLo thing, which was using vapi voice agents, but with a Hinglish interviewer, tailored according to the Indian audience. But I realized that I completed building it wayy too earlier. So I decided to make the entire product an ECOSYSTEM of College related products in sync with the Indian Ecosystem. A platform which speaks the Indian language (literally).
InterviewLo - the ecosystem is an entire, ONE STOP solution for all of your 4 years of college, you don't need to go anywhere else, LITERALLY - take notes on our platform, learn DSA on it, practice Interview questions, get all trending resources and even get mentorship.
What it does
NotesLo is an AI-powered, Excalidraw-style note-taking platform designed for learners and educators in the coding and tech space. IMAGINE EXCALIDRAW + REPLIT. It enables:
- Real-time drawing, typing, and diagramming (like flowcharts, trees, etc.)
- Sharable, collaborative links for learning
- A creator-friendly interface for YouTubers to teach and share coding notes
- Integrated affiliate and referral system — refer 4 paid users and get a free Pro plan
Eventually, it becomes the entry point to the InterviewLo Ecosystem — a full-stack career platform including:
- AI-driven Hinglish mock interviews
- Job search via xRapidAPI
- One-on-one career consultancy
- Personalized learning roadmap generation
How we built it
We built the MVP using:
- React.js + TailwindCSS for the frontend UI
- Excalidraw and Canvas APIs for whiteboard-style interactivity
- OpenAI's GPT APIs for AI note summarization
- Firebase for authentication and real-time collaboration
- xRapidAPI for job search integration
- Stripe for subscriptions + affiliate logic
Our architecture is modular to allow us to scale from NotesLo into the full InterviewLo Ecosystem seamlessly.
Challenges we ran into
- Syncing real-time drawing and note collaboration while ensuring performance
- Designing a UI that appeals to both creators and students
- Handling API rate limits and ensuring the affordability of AI calls
- Building a fair and abuse-resistant affiliate engine
- Keeping the Hindi-English ("Hinglish") experience natural and accessible
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Won the HackOrbit Hackathon
- Successfully demoed NotesLo with real YouTubers creating and sharing live notes
- Developed a scalable ecosystem model — not just a standalone project
What we learned
- The Indian learning ecosystem is deeply creator-driven — trust and teaching go hand in hand
- AI and Excalidraw together are powerful for visual + textual learning
- Referral-based virality is far more effective than traditional paid ads in Tier 2/3 cities
- Simplicity wins: real users loved the clean NotesLo interface over cluttered LMS platforms
What's next for InterviewLoEcosystem
- Launch NotesLo in public beta with 50+ partnered YouTubers
- Scale the affiliate program to colleges, creators, and coding bootcamps
- Integrate InterviewLo (AI mock interviews in Hinglish) into the NotesLo dashboard
- Release a “Creator Analytics Panel” for note views, conversions, and commissions
- Start onboarding colleges and coaching institutes on the Team Plan
- Raise a micro pre-seed to build for the next 6–12 months and grow the user base to 100K+
InterviewLoEcosystem is not just a hackathon project - it's our vision for how young India prepares for its future.
