Inspiration

Preparing for interviews can be stressful, especially for students and early-career developers who have limited access to mentors, mock interview sessions, or personalized feedback.

Most interview preparation platforms focus on static question banks and generic advice. They do not adapt to the candidate's background, skills, projects, or communication style.

I wanted to build an intelligent interview coach that could simulate realistic interviews, understand a user's resume, ask relevant questions, provide meaningful feedback, and help users improve over time.

This idea became InterviewIQ AI.

Challenges I Faced

One of the biggest challenges was preventing the AI from behaving like a simple chatbot.

I wanted the system to actively listen to answers and generate intelligent follow-up questions based on the user's response. Achieving this required careful prompt design and response analysis.

Building Realistic Interview Flows

Real interviews are dynamic and unpredictable.

Creating a system that felt natural while maintaining structure required multiple iterations of question generation and evaluation logic.

Designing an Intuitive Mobile Experience

Since the application is mobile-first, significant effort was spent on creating a clean, responsive, and user-friendly interface that remains simple while offering advanced AI features.

What I Learned
