Inspiration: The possibility of AI being able to communicate using voice inspired us to think about voice based projects to begin with. As an Engineer I have personally struggled with preparing for an interview. Only after giving couple of real interviews I would start giving good interviews. So the thought was we could use AI as a companion to ask us questions and we could practice with AI.
What it does : It helps job seekers prepare for a job interview. A job seeker provides the details of his interview, the position, technology, Company name for which he is giving an interview and his level of experience. Based on these parameters the Agentic question generator kicks in and asks questions. Both voice based and text based interview practice options are available.
How we built it : Using the power of AI in Bolt. WE used Node.js for the frontend and initially we used node modules for backend. Later due to stability and multiple options available with python e.g Pydantic agent orchestrator we switched to Python backend.
Challenges we ran into: We faced lot of issue integrating Livekit Voice Agents. Creating the room, generating the correct JWT Token, and later the Voice agent being unable to join the room that was created. Multiple iterations and manual plus AI based prompting, researching etc we were able to ensure that the Voice agent connects to the Room and the voice was heard.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Building a working MVP of our app within 3 weeks of starting the app building process.
What we learned: We learned how to work with Node JS, how to integrate backend with front end. We learnt how to debug in Node.js.
What's next for Interview Prep: We plan to integrate AI avatars, and also plan to allow the user to provide the exact Job interview link from the internet and then simulate the questions using all the information from the job posting.
Please Note: This is an MVP app that can sometimes have delays with voice, also the Video has been edited to ensure 3 minute demo rule is met. Thanks,
