Inspiration Our journey began with the realization that many job seekers feel anxious and unprepared for interviews. We wanted to create a solution that empowers candidates with the confidence and skills they need to succeed, no matter their background or experience.
What it does Interview.io is an AI-powered platform that serves as a personal interview coach. Users can input their desired job title and description, and the AI tailors interview questions to match. It offers real-time feedback on answers, helping users refine their responses and gain insights that feel like they come from a pro—just a click away!
How we built it We developed Interview.io using React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the front end. The back end leverages ChatGPT's interface to handle the AI processing. We integrated a microphone feature to record audio and implemented speech-to-text functionality to convert spoken answers into text that the AI can analyze and respond to, creating a personalized interview experience. For UX/UI design, we utilized Figma and Canva to create an intuitive and visually appealing interface.
Challenges we ran into One of the main challenges was ensuring the AI could accurately understand and evaluate responses across different job roles and industries. Additionally, balancing the complexity of the AI with user-friendly design was a significant hurdle. We also faced time constraints during the hackathon, which pushed us to work efficiently under pressure.
Accomplishments that we're proud of We successfully developed a functional prototype that accurately tailors interview questions and provides meaningful feedback. We are proud of our user interface design, which makes it easy for users to navigate the platform.
What we learned Through this project, we learned the importance of user feedback in the development process. We discovered how critical it is to iterate quickly and refine our features based on real-world usage. We also gained valuable experience in integrating AI technologies and working collaboratively under tight deadlines.
What's next for INTERVIEW.IO Looking ahead, we plan to enhance the platform by expanding our question database and incorporating more advanced AI features, such as adaptive learning based on user performance. A major feature in development is a video interface where the AI records the user's video, analyzes body language, and provides feedback based on this analysis. We aim to integrate additional resources, such as video tutorials and industry-specific insights, to further support users in their interview preparation journey. Our goal is to turn Interview.io into the go-to platform for job seekers everywhere!
