Objective: The primary aim of Interstellar Journeys is to provide an interactive learning experience about the history of spaceships and the iconic space missions conducted by humans. As you progress through the game, you will unlock levels representing significant moments in space exploration history. Each level presents unique challenges and historical context, allowing you to delve deeper into the achievements and triumphs of human space exploration.
Controls: At the start of each level, you will find your rocket placed on the launch pad, with a target destination displayed. To navigate through space and control your rocket, use the following controls:
Timing Launch: Press and hold the "Space" key to time the launch. An oscillating value called "Timing Launch" will be displayed. Release the "Space" key to launch the rocket with the current timing value, determining the initial velocity. Timing your launch accurately will be crucial to recreate historical missions.
Boosters: Once your rocket is airborne, gravity will cause it to descend. Counteract the descent by pressing and holding the "Up Arrow" key to activate the boosters. Be mindful of your fuel consumption and collect fuel power-ups strategically to sustain your journey.
Rotation: Use the "Left Arrow" and "Right Arrow" keys to rotate the rocket and adjust its direction. Precise navigation is essential to avoid obstacles and stay on course.
Progress Monitoring: Keep an eye on your altitude and progress displayed on the screen. The progress is measured as a percentage of the distance covered towards the target destination. Take pride in your progress as you trace the footsteps of historic space missions.
Meteor Collisions: Beware of meteors! Colliding with meteors will inflict damage on your rocket, simulating the challenges faced by real space explorers. Exercise caution and skillfully maneuver to avoid these cosmic hazards.
Fuel Management: Strategically manage your fuel consumption to ensure a successful journey. Plan your booster activations wisely to conserve fuel and reach your destination. Balance the use of propulsion and fuel reserves just like the astronauts did during their missions.

We were inspired to create Interstellar Journeys after learning about the rich history of space exploration. We were fascinated by the stories of the brave astronauts and scientists who risked their lives to explore the unknown. We wanted to create a game that would allow players to experience the excitement and wonder of space exploration, while also learning about the history of this amazing field.
How we built it
We built "Interstellar Journeys" using Unity game engine, leveraging its powerful features for game development. The game incorporates various elements such as physics-based controls, level design, graphical assets, and engaging gameplay mechanics.
