Inspiration We drew inspiration from classic arcade games like Ping Pong and combined it with our space theme. We wanted to create beginner-friendly, interactive games that let players explore different space adventures. What It Does Interstellar Arcade is a set of space-themed games designed to be simple yet engaging. Some of the games include: • Protect the Earth – Defend the planet from incoming asteroids. • Astronaut Adrift – Navigate through space to rescue a lost astronaut. How We Built It We designed and programmed our games using Scratch, a beginner-friendly coding platform. With Scratch’s block-based coding, we brought our space concepts to life with animations, movements, and interactive elements. Challenges We Ran Into Since we were new to game development, we faced challenges understanding coding logic and designing smooth mechanics. Additionally, making the games visually appealing while keeping them functional was a learning experience. Accomplishments That We’re Proud Of Even though our designs aren’t perfect, we successfully built playable games! We took our ideas from concept to execution, overcoming technical difficulties along the way and most importantly we had fun while doing this. What We Learned • The basics of coding interactive games. • How to troubleshoot errors and improve game mechanics. • The importance of balancing creativity with functionality. What’s Next for Interstellar Arcade? We plan to expand our collection with even more space-themed games, exploring new mechanics and improving our designs. Possible future ideas include: • A moon rover adventure where players explore different planets. • A zero-gravity puzzle game challenging players to navigate space debris.
