Inspiration
Are you a college student? Have you ever thought, “I wish I had friends here with me”, but are not sure which of your friends to invite? College aged students are among the highest of those affected by a mental health issue and loneliness. Thus, we decided to make Interspace, an application dedicated to bringing people together through spontaneous or planned invitations to create memories through a shared space.

What it does
We created a design through figma for individuals to post spontaneous or planned events to share with their friends without the hassle of having to contact everyone. Our platform allows college students to connect via InterSpace. They are able to view what other students/friends are doing, and can join their activity. Equally, students are able to create their own posts if they ever want to develop connections.
How we built it
Our group used Figma to develop our prototype. With the utilization of design techniques and some function integration, we were able to design and develop InterSpace.
Challenges we ran into
Being new to Figma, every team member was new to its abilities. When attempting to implement text input, we ran into difficulties about implementing control for every key pressed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of putting together a functional prototype for Interspace, letting you click between pages in the navigation bar, use the text fields, and scroll through for an interactive experience. We are also proud of the UI design of the website, from calming background, to elements that pop out of the page and are intuitive to find and use.
What we learned
We learned how to use Figma for prototyping and how to design effectively to have a consistent UI and for ease of navigation.
What's next for InterSpace
After Hack@Brown, we plan to turn InterSpace into a fully functional app, and to scale it into something that college students across the country can use.
