We started as two separate teams. Simon was working on a 3d NASA showcase on a game engine, while Michael, Andrew and Allyson were working to create a website. However, late Saturday, we decided to join forces to create a space agency website that models what future charter-flight websites would be like, for space. As amateur coders with little experience, even simple functions in javascript were going to be a learning curve for us. Interplanetary Colonization is a travel agency website advertising the trip to Mars with a process to customize your trip. The process includes multiple steps selecting your destination and personal information. We built this using javascript, html and css and with online tutorial help, Stackoverflow and queries we were confused about to ChatGPT, we accomplished most of our goals in our website. The website takes in input regarding the date, destination and name and successfully saves and displays it. There was a lot of difficulties between the steps of the process and saving the information as we were very inexperienced with javascript. In this hackathon, we learned a lot about basic website designing and basic web coding. We are proud that the website is functional, since this is our first functional website for us. What is next for Interplanetary Colonization? A payment system and a map, and polishing the code behind the system and the decorations on the website.
