Inspiration

The rise of internet usage among children, coupled with growing threats like cyberbullying, online predators, and unsafe content, inspired us to create an interactive, educational platform. We aimed to bridge the knowledge gap between digital-native children and less tech-savvy parents by promoting digital literacy and online safety practices.

What it does

Our website provides:

Interactive learning modules for kids on topics like password safety, recognizing scams, and online behavior.

Parental guides covering monitoring tools, social media awareness, and conversation starters.

Quizzes and badges to gamify learning for children.

safety checklists for families.

support to reach diverse users.

How we built it

Frontend: HTML, CSS (with Bootstrap for responsiveness), and JavaScript.

Backend: Node.js

Hosting: Localhost/Netlify/GitHub Pages during development phase.

Challenges we ran into

Designing content that’s age-appropriate and engaging for kids while being informative for parents.

Ensuring responsive design across all devices (smartphones, tablets, desktops).

Addressing privacy concerns while simulating real-world examples.

Time constraints while managing multiple components (UI/UX, education, testing).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully designed interactive design that children enjoyed during testing.

Created a parental dashboard to guide digital safety strategies.

Built a prototype that requires login, ensuring immediate access and safety.

Received positive feedback from early users and instructors.

What we learned

The importance of UI/UX for young users—simplicity, large buttons, and visual learning elements matter.

How to create age-specific educational content.

Deepened our understanding of family-centered design and inclusivity.
