Intern Net

Inspiration

Both of us want to go to Waterloo Co-op programs but what's the point in co-op if there are no internship opportunities

What it does

Intern Net is an API that holds both students and employers which can make api calls to retrieve and post data.

How we built it

SwiftUI front end with django backend which was connected to a PostgreSQL database.

Challenges we ran into

We wanted to implement a resume parser, however we soon realized that it would be impossible given that it was in a completely different framework - this wasted a lot of valuable time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully made a working front end and back end that could connect to an api. The json decoders and encoders helped connect these two aspects of our project.

What we learned

We learned valuable skills, including front-end and back-end connections, as well as connecting different languages together.

What's next for Intern Net

If proper funding was available, we would have deployed the Intern net api publicly so that it could be accessible anywhere.
