The team was inspired to build a one stop hub for interns to improve and enhance the way students receive information from assignments and job location to nightlife and restaurants in town.
The Intern Communication Portal is a website designed to contain all the information returning and new interns need to get used to their new roles and life in Erie, PA. It contains their assignment information, housing information, a calendar with upcoming events and descriptions, and a guide to life in Erie for the newcomers.
Some challenges include learning the programing languages and coming up the interface of the webpage. Making something appealing that both the EID program faculty and interns would enjoy using.
Learning new programming languages and building something that actually works and could potentially be used by the company.
If the company decides to implement the portal then we would have to teach the faculty how to use it and how to log the information.
