InterLinked Hackathon Project Story
Inspiration
InterLinked was born from a shared vision to simplify productivity for busy administrators and professionals. Inspired by the common struggle of juggling multiple tasks, deadlines, and platforms, we set out to create a cost-effective digital personal assistant that streamlines task management. Designed to fit seamlessly into daily workflows, InterLinked empowers users to stay organized and focused by automating key tasks like scheduling meetings, sending reminders, generating email summaries, and managing follow-ups for reports, budgets, and forms—all in one intuitive platform.
What it does
InterLinked is a browser extension that serves as an intelligent personal assistant. It enables users to:
- Manage tasks directly within the browser through a clean and intuitive sidebar.
- Schedule meetings with ease, integrated with tools like Google Calendar.
- Automate reminders and follow-ups to stay on top of deadlines.
- Track progress and manage chained tasks for streamlined workflows.
How we built it
We developed InterLinked using:
- Frontend: React and Tailwind to create a responsive and user-friendly interface.
- APIs: Integration with Google Calendar for scheduling and task reminders.
- AI Features: Leveraged OpenAI APIs for natural language processing in AI QuickTask.
- Storage: Utilized Chrome's storage API to save tasks locally and securely.
Challenges we ran into
- API Integration: Ensuring seamless integration with Google Calendar and email services while handling authentication securely was a major challenge.
- User Experience: Balancing functionality with simplicity to create a distraction-free, intuitive interface involved significant design iterations.
- Time Constraints: With the hackathon's tight schedule, prioritizing essential features while leaving room for future improvements was challenging.
