Inspiration
Registration for events in my high school was being done offline (by hand) and it was becoming difficult to manage. So I thought the best way to solve this problem was to go online!
What it does
It allows students to create an account with all their details and then register for all the events they want online. They would be then contacted by the leaders for tryouts and more details by email.
How I built it
I built a simple UI using HTML 5 and bootstrap. The backend including the user accounts and registration handling was done using PHP and SQL (for the databases).
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
It was the first time for me implementing any sort of web-app so I'm proud of how I managed to put together a functioning user accounts system with little knowledge and just figuring out as I go!
What I learned
I learned a lot of PHP and how to manage a database system using SQL.
What's next for Interhouse event web registration system
It's currently being used in my high school for registration after I have graduated! The UI could be improved drastically. I could probably add more description and images for each event.
