Inspiration
While working on an island world for a previous competition, I wanted a way to reward players for exploring.
What it does
The asset is triggered by player proximity and animates a custom-made chest (by me) into view and pops open with satisfying visual and audio effects. A replaceable coin appears, which can be collected by the player! When the player leaves the trigger, the chest disappears back into the ground with a flourish.

How we built it
The chest and coin were modeled in Blender and imported into Horizon Worlds Desktop Editor. The interaction uses triggers, animation code, visual effects, and audio
Challenges we ran into
I had to remodel and tweak the feel and look of the asset until it felt right.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm very happy with how the models came out, and I'm proud to have refined the skills it took to go from nothing to a fully published asset
What we learned
I improved my abilities in Low-Poly creation and how to make them look good in Horizons. It's the first time modeling from just an image.
What's next for Interactive Treasure Chest Asset
I'd like to continue the process of modeling and building out interactive assets
