Inspiration
We were inspired from our 9th grade Biology teacher who would take simple ideas and convert them into a game that would help up learn material better.
What it does
Our project takes the monotonous activity of studying and tries to incorporate a gaming aspect to it.
How we built it
We used a combination of Figma for designing and react and p5js for the web app.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the challenges we faced was trying to use React along with P5.js as there is no direct link for it and we had to add a wrapper and do some other maneuvers to get through. Another challenge that we faced was figuring out how it should all go together as we were a bit puzzled about how we should go about doing this project. We needed to sync up everything together and figure it out step by step.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to get a pretty nice-looking wireframe and the idea of a gamified quiz onto our app.
What we learned
we learned a lot in this project, especially on how to combine different frameworks together to create a usable product. We also learned through trial and error that it is usually best to have absolutely everything planned out such as screens and what the user should see before proceeding towards next steps.
What's next for Interactive Study App for Better Learning
We still need to work out how to incorporate a fun game that people will actually enjoy playing. We need to implement a mastery and progression system to encourage daily practice and through knowledge of the subject.
