Inspiration
Children have been forced to spend most of their time indoors during the lockdown. This is likely to have a big impact on their physical development and on their mental health. Children are missing out chances to stimulate their brains with movement in a crucial period of their development. I want to build a low-cost DIY kit so parents and carers can create sensory walks in the proximity of their homes, re-imaginig urban spaces in a fun and engaging way.
What it does
It is a combination of exercises, built in a sensory walk, targeting core aspects of children development aiming at the integration of suppression of primitive reflexes (likely triggered by anxiety and lack of movements in the development stage), breathing (to regulate heartbeat and lowering anxiety), basic eye movement and basic sound processing. An app will add virtual props to the sensory walk and give the possibility to share the experience with friends.
