Inspiration
As a student at Isaac A. David Sr. Memorial School (IADSMS) in Liberia, I noticed that math formulas on a flat chalkboard can feel abstract and difficult to grasp. I wanted to create a tool that moves equations from a textbook into an interactive digital space.
What it does
The project acts as a digital math tutor. Instead of just giving a student a final answer, the app breaks down complex problems—like the Pythagorean theorem—step-by-step so users can see the exact algebraic progression in real time.
How we built it
We built this entire website using the Python programming language. Python does all the hard math calculations behind the scenes and prints the steps on the screen.
Challenges we ran into
The hardest part was making sure the website link worked for everyone. We had to fix the web settings so that anyone, anywhere in the world could open our link without errors.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we built a working website with Python. It changes dry textbook math into an exciting interactive tool that can help students study.
What we learned
We learned how to use Python to read numbers from a user and do math instantly. We also learned how to make a live website link that works for everyone.
What's next for Interactive Math Formula
We want to add more math formulas to our app, like the quadratic formula. This will help high school students solve and understand even harder math problems.
