Inspiration
We took inspiration from Google Maps, but we wanted to make it kid-friendly. Using a simple map, without too many shades allows for optimal readability.
What it does
Our program allows users to click on any country and it will display information. It will also remember the country you clicked on and color it green to show that you have already gone over the country.
How we built it
We used an SVG map to create the map functions. After that, we implemented an API to show information on a card we created on CSS.
Challenges we ran into
A challenge we ran into was implementing the API
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the coloring features that we implemented into the map, it helps you remember what country you have already gone over.
What we learned
We learned to use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, also implementing the API was extremely difficult and we are glad that we got it done for the first time.
What's Next for Interactive Informational Map
We were limited to the number of APIs we could add to this project, we wanted to add another API that automatically generates popular places people can go to depending on the country you clicked.
