Inspiration

I was deeply inspired by the profound wisdom of Hasan al-Basri, the great Islamic scholar, who said: "Man is made of days - when a day passes, a part of him goes with it." This metaphor struck me powerfully - our lives are like trees, and each day is a precious leaf that either grows green with potential or falls as a cherished memory.

This quote made me realize how we often live unconsciously, letting days slip by without reflection or intention. I wanted to create something that would help people visualize their life journey and make every single day count.

The platform is designed for everyone, at any age - whether you're 15 or 85, it grows with you throughout your entire life journey. When you meet someone special, add them to your tree. When you accomplish something meaningful, log it as a new leaf of growth.

How we built it

Frontend: React 18 + TypeScript for robust, type-safe development Styling: Tailwind CSS with custom animations using Framer Motion 3D Visualization: Three.js for stunning 3D life tree rendering Database: Supabase for real-time data storage and authentication Deployment: Netlify with custom domain integration Design: Apple-level aesthetics with glassmorphism and micro-interactions

The architecture follows modern best practices with modular components, clean separation of concerns, and responsive design that works beautifully across all devices.

Challenges we ran into

Building this vision came with significant technical challenges:

🌳 Real-time 3D Life Tree: Creating a dynamic, interactive tree that responds to user data while maintaining 60fps performance was incredibly complex. Implementing realistic branch growth, leaf physics, and seasonal changes required deep Three.js optimization.

🗺️ Interactive World Map: Integrating D3.js with TopoJSON for accurate country mapping, handling coordinate transformations, and creating smooth zoom/pan interactions while maintaining data accuracy across different projections.

🔐 Authentication & Database Architecture: Implementing secure user authentication with Supabase, designing a scalable database schema for complex relationships, and ensuring data privacy with Row Level Security policies.

🎨 Cross-platform Responsiveness: Ensuring the 3D visualizations and complex animations work flawlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices while maintaining visual fidelity.

🚀Deployment: It was difficult to buy domain from IONOS that's why, I found a Netlify as a good option.
