Inspiration

The idea for IntelliLearn-AI came from the challenge of breaking down complex goals into manageable, actionable steps. Whether it's studying for an exam, finishing a personal project, or learning a new skill, it's easy to get overwhelmed and lose motivation. Inspired by apps like Duolingo, we wanted to create an AI-powered platform that helps users set clear goals, break them down into steps, and stay motivated along the way.

What it does

IntelliLearn-AI is an AI-powered goal planner designed to help users achieve their learning and personal goals by breaking them down into manageable steps. The platform allows users to set a goal (e.g., "Complete Chemistry in 1 month") and, using advanced AI, generates a personalized action plan with clear, timed steps. Along with each step, users receive motivational quotes, fun facts, or tips to keep them inspired and engaged. IntelliLearn-AI is designed to make goal setting simpler, more structured, and more motivating, guiding users from start to finish.

How we built it

We used a Next.js framework for the frontend, providing a responsive and fast experience for our users. We leveraged OpenAI's GPT-3 API to generate personalized steps and motivational content for each user goal. The app is deployed on Vercel, taking advantage of their seamless deployment system for Next.js apps, ensuring fast and reliable performance.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was ensuring that the AI-generated steps were realistic and aligned with users’ deadlines. Designing an engaging yet simple user interface was also a challenge, as we needed to ensure the app was intuitive and enjoyable. Finally, working under the time constraints of a hackathon required quick decision-making and prioritization.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of successfully integrating AI to generate personalized and actionable goal breakdowns. We also created a clean and engaging interface that users find easy to navigate and motivating. The seamless integration of AI, the database, and the frontend worked smoothly, and we were able to complete and deploy the app within the hackathon timeframe, which was a major accomplishment.

What we learned

Building IntelliLearn-AI taught us how to use OpenAI GPT-3 for generating goal breakdowns and motivational content. We also learned how to integrate both the frontend and backend efficiently using Next.js. The project emphasized the importance of user motivation and keeping things simple while still offering a rewarding experience. Most importantly, we learned the value of time management and prioritization under tight deadlines.

What's next for IntelliLearn-AI

Moving forward, we plan to enhance the personalization features, offering even more tailored goal plans and content. We’re also considering adding collaboration features, allowing users to set and track shared goals. A mobile-optimized version will be developed for on-the-go tracking, along with progress tracking and analytics to visualize achievements. Lastly, we plan to integrate with third-party tools like Google Calendar and Todoist to make goal tracking even more seamless.
