Inspiration

Recruitment today is often slow, repetitive, and heavily dependent on keyword-based Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Many qualified candidates are rejected because their resumes do not contain the exact keywords expected by recruiters. At the same time, job seekers struggle to create ATS-friendly resumes and understand the skills required for their target roles. We wanted to build a platform that uses Artificial Intelligence to make hiring more accurate, transparent, and efficient for both recruiters and candidates.

What it does

IntelliHire is an AI-powered recruitment platform that connects recruiters and job seekers through intelligent automation. It uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to analyze resumes and job descriptions, generate AI-powered candidate summaries, recommend skill improvements, optimize resumes, and provide conversational job search.

The platform also includes an AI Career Coach, industry-specific resume templates, automated CV screening, explainable AI matching, recruiter analytics, bulk resume processing, smart notifications, and an Open House hiring event module that allows companies to organize and manage recruitment events digitally.

How we built it

The platform is being developed as a modern web application with separate interfaces for recruiters and job seekers. The frontend focuses on a responsive and user-friendly experience, while the backend manages authentication, resume processing, job management, and AI-powered services.

Our AI pipeline combines NLP techniques with LLM-based analysis to extract structured information from resumes, compare candidate profiles with job descriptions, generate summaries, identify skill gaps, and improve job matching accuracy.

Challenges we faced

One of the biggest challenges was designing an accurate AI matching system instead of relying only on keyword searches. Resume parsing across different formats, maintaining AI response quality, ensuring data privacy, handling large resume uploads, and designing a scalable architecture were also significant challenges throughout the project.

What we learned

This project strengthened our understanding of AI-powered software development, full-stack web technologies, REST APIs, authentication, database design, prompt engineering, NLP, and LLM integration. We also learned how to design scalable systems, improve user experience, and solve real-world recruitment problems using intelligent automation.
