Inspiration

The inspiration for this project came from the need to streamline supply chain processes, ensuring that businesses can efficiently manage inventory, predict demand, and handle payments securely. By integrating decentralized payments and predictive analytics, we aimed to create a more intelligent and responsive supply chain management system.

What it does

Our Intelligent Supply Chain Management system allows suppliers to add products to a marketplace and enables employees to purchase these products. Payments are made through a decentralized process using ETH, ensuring secure and transparent transactions. Additionally, employees can list purchased products in a warehouse and access predictive analytics to foresee future demand, allowing for proactive inventory management.

How we built it

We built the project using a combination of blockchain technology for decentralized payments, predictive analytics models for demand forecasting, and a robust front-end and back-end architecture to manage the marketplace and warehouse functionalities. The tech stack includes:

  • Blockchain: Smart contracts for decentralized payments
  • Machine Learning: Predictive models to forecast product demand
  • Frontend: React.js with WalletConnect integration
  • Backend: Node.js with Express.js, connected to MongoDB for database management

Challenges we ran into

One of the significant challenges we faced was integrating decentralized payments with the traditional supply chain management workflow. Ensuring seamless interaction between the blockchain and the web application required careful handling of transaction states and user experience. We overcame this by implementing WalletConnect, which allowed us to manage ETH payments securely.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of successfully integrating a decentralized payment system with a traditional supply chain management platform. Additionally, the implementation of machine learning models to predict product demand adds substantial value to the system, making it not only reactive but also proactive.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned the complexities of combining blockchain technology with traditional web applications. We gained insights into the challenges of managing decentralized payments and the importance of user-friendly interfaces to ensure adoption. The project also enhanced our understanding of predictive analytics in the context of supply chain management.

What's next for Intelligent Supply Chain Management

The next steps involve further refining the predictive models to increase their accuracy and expanding the marketplace to support more suppliers and products. We also plan to enhance the decentralized payment system by integrating more cryptocurrencies and exploring the use of smart contracts for more complex supply chain interactions.
