Inspiration

Many students miss scholarship opportunities because information is scattered across different government and private portals, and eligibility conditions can be difficult to understand. We wanted to build a platform that makes scholarship discovery more personalized, transparent, and easier to manage.

What it does

Intelligent Scholarship Matching creates a student profile using academic, financial, demographic, and geographic information. It compares the profile with available scholarship opportunities and identifies relevant matches.

The platform provides explainable results, showing why a student qualifies and highlighting missing requirements or documents. It also prioritizes opportunities based on award value, competition level, and deadline urgency, while providing deadline reminders and financial insights.

How we built it

The system follows an end-to-end workflow: Profile Input → Data Aggregation → AI Eligibility Check → Ranked Results → Tracking & Alerts.

The matching engine evaluates scholarship criteria against the student's profile and presents the most relevant opportunities in an organized dashboard.

Challenges we faced

One of the main challenges was designing a matching process that could handle multiple eligibility factors at the same time. We also focused on making the results explainable rather than simply displaying a match, so students can understand the requirements and identify what is missing before applying.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned how AI-based matching can be applied to a real-world financial and education problem. We also learned the importance of explainability, structured data, user-centered design, and presenting complex eligibility information in a simple way.

Future scope

The platform can be extended with more scholarship sources, automated document verification, personalized application assistance, deadline notifications, and improved matching using historical application data.
