Inspiration

There are people who live in areas where it is hard to get to a doctor. They have to travel a way or wait a long time to get an appointment. Some people do not go to the doctor because it is too hard to schedule an appointment and it takes much time. We wanted to solve this problem by creating a system that helps people in rural areas book appointments easily. Our goal is to make healthcare more accessible and fair for everyone people who live in rural areas using artificial intelligence and automation to make things more efficient.

What it does

Our system is a healthcare app that uses intelligence to make it easy to book appointments. It helps people who are sick get attention quickly. People fill out a form that describes their symptoms and medical condition. Then an artificial intelligence agent looks at the persons condition. Decides how serious it is. The artificial intelligence agent puts the persons condition into one of three categories: High, Medium or Normal. After that another artificial intelligence agent assigns a doctor to the person based on their needs. The Intelligent Patient Triage System sends an email with the appointment details and doctor assignment. This automated process reduces the time it takes to get an appointment and helps people in areas get medical care more efficiently. The Intelligent Patient Triage System is a help to people who need to see a doctor.

How we built it

We built the Intelligent Patient Triage System using the UiPath Platform. We combined intelligence with robotic process automation to create a workflow for healthcare. The user-facing app was developed using UiPath Apps. The app talks to the backend through a UiPath Studio RPA workflow. The backend logic is powered by UiPath Maestro, where multiple artificial intelligence agents work together to make the Intelligent Patient Triage System work. A Coded Agent looks at the persons symptoms. Decides how serious they are. A Triage Agent puts the persons condition into one of three categories. A Doctor Classification Agent assigns a doctor to the person. The Intelligent Patient Triage System uses all these agents to make sure people get the help they need.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge we had was getting all the parts of the Intelligent Patient Triage System to work together. We had to make sure that the data flowed correctly between the frontend RPA process and the artificial intelligence agents. This took a lot of configuration and testing. Another challenge we had was fixing problems that occurred when the system failed. We had to find out what was causing the problems and make sure that the different parts of the system could talk to each other. This took a lot of time and effort. We had to work to get the Intelligent Patient Triage System working correctly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of building a system that works. Getting UiPath Apps, UiPath Studio and UiPath Maestro to work together was a challenge. We are happy that our solution helps solve a problem in healthcare. The Intelligent Patient Triage System is an accomplishment for us. We are proud of what we have done.

What we learned

This project taught us a lot about the UiPath ecosystem. We got hands-on experience designing and orchestrating agent workflows. We learned how to get UiPath Apps to work with UiPath Maestro using UiPath Studio as the RPA layer. We learned a lot from working on the Intelligent Patient Triage System.

What's next for Intelligent Patient Triage System

Our next goal is to make the prototype a real healthcare solution that people can use. We plan to get the Intelligent Patient Triage System to work with hospital databases and appointment management systems. We also want to make the artificial intelligence agents smarter by using peoples history and hospital records. We plan to add features such as support, voice-based symptom reporting and a doctor dashboard to the Intelligent Patient Triage System. Our vision is to make the Intelligent Patient Triage System a platform that improves access to healthcare for people in areas by delivering faster smarter and more efficient patient care using artificial intelligence and automation. The Intelligent Patient Triage System will make a difference, in peoples lives.
