As an avid AI user, I've found myself relying on artificial intelligence for both work and personal tasks. While the major AI companies offer their own apps, I've always gravitated towards third-party applications. Why? They give me the freedom to choose different models for various prompts.

Through my journey of model-hopping, I noticed something interesting: some responses were clearly superior to others. This observation sparked an idea: why not create an app that combines the best of all worlds?

Here's what I envisioned:

Tweak and perfect your text before conversion, and voila! Imagine resumes, applications, cover letters, and more - all ready in seconds. ✨

  • Creative Spaces: Share and explore the most imaginative AI responses in our community spaces. Get inspired daily! 🌈

  • Cloud Saves: Keep your favorite responses safe and accessible in the cloud. Never lose a brilliant idea again! ☁️

How I built it 🛠️

  • Framework: Flutter for cross-platform magic ✨
  • Backend: Firebase for robust and scalable infrastructure 🔥
  • AI Integration: Only the cream of the crop - best available AI model APIs 🧠
  • Monetization: Revenue Cat for smooth subscription and paywall integration 💰
  • Analytics: MixPanel to keep our finger on the pulse 📊

Challenges I ran into 🧗‍♂️

Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was Intelli Chat AI. Some of our toughest hurdles were:

  • Crafting a robust credit system that's fair and user-friendly
  • Perfecting the markdown-to-PDF conversion with pixel-perfect styling
  • Designing an interface that's both beautiful and intuitive (countless apps were analyzed in the process!)
  • Implementing the chat with document feature. This was a real brain-teaser! I had to create a robust system using vector databases and embeddings to achieve the best results.
  • Optimizing performance to handle complex AI operations smoothly, even on mobile devices. It's like fitting a supercomputer in your pocket! 📱💨
  • I was already late for submission and the paywall was pending, wasn't expecting RevenueCat integration with beautiful paywall would be so seamless. I loved it.
  • After a couple of rejections from Google Playstore finally this app got accepted. But I had to rename from "Intelligent: Chat AI" to "Intelli: Chat AI".

Accomplishments that I'm proud of 🏆

  • 🎉 First purchase within 48 hours of launch!
  • 👍 Received encouraging initial feedback from early adopters
  • 🎨 Our intensive UI/UX research paid dividends (but we're not stopping there!)

What I learned 📚

  • While app development is becoming more accessible, a well-developed app alone doesn't guarantee success
  • Analytics and A/B testing are non-negotiable for sustainable revenue growth. 📊💰
  • Test-driven development may seem time-consuming at first, but it's a massive time-saver in the long run. It's like building a safety net for your code! 🕸️👨‍💻
  • Perfection can be the enemy of progress. I learned it's better to ship the app and iterate based on real user feedback, rather than endlessly polishing in isolation. Launch, learn, improve – that's my new mantra! 🚢👂🔧
  • User feedback is gold. Nothing beats real-world usage for uncovering insights and improvement areas I might have missed. 💡👥
