About the Project
Why did we build IntelliApply?
IntelliApply started with a problem many of us have experienced firsthand: applying for internships, co-ops, and jobs can feel like a full-time job on its own.
You find an opportunity that looks promising, and then the real work begins.
You read the job description. Compare it with your resume. Figure out which skills actually match. Identify what you're missing. Research the company. Tailor your application. Write a cover letter. And, if you get the interview, start searching through your downloads, emails, and browser history trying to remember what you actually submitted.
And most of the time, you're doing all of this across different platforms.
We found plenty of great tools that solve individual pieces of the problem — resume optimization, job matching, interview preparation, application tracking — but the experience is fragmented, and many of the useful features are locked behind paid subscriptions.
So we asked ourselves:
Why do I need five different tools just to apply for one job?
That question became IntelliApply.
One platform. The entire application journey.
IntelliApply is a free, all-in-one career workspace built to bring the job search together in one place.
You can:
- Track applications and their progress
- Analyze job descriptions and understand what employers are actually looking for
- Match your resume against specific opportunities
- Understand why you match and where you're falling short
- Identify skill gaps and areas worth improving
- Get AI-powered career insights and application recommendations
- Build a career snapshot from your application history
- Keep your resume, job description, analysis, and preparation together
- Prepare for interviews using the exact opportunity you're applying for
But we didn't want IntelliApply to simply tell someone:
"You're an 82% match."
We wanted it to answer the questions that actually matter:
Why am I a match?
What am I missing?
What should I improve?
Is this opportunity worth pursuing?
How should I prepare?
And once you apply, your work shouldn't disappear into a folder somewhere.
IntelliApply keeps your application package together — the resume you used, job description, cover letter, analysis, skill gaps, recommendations, and interview preparation — so when that interview email arrives, everything you need is already there.
Built with AI, designed around people.
IntelliApply is built on top of LLMs and AI-powered analysis, but we don't believe AI should make career decisions for people.
Instead, we use AI where it adds real value: turning complex job and resume information into insights that are easier to understand and act on.
The goal isn't:
"Let AI decide whether you should apply."
It's:
"Give candidates better information so they can make that decision themselves."
How We Built It
Under the hood, IntelliApply combines a modern full-stack web application with structured resume and job parsing, deterministic resume-to-job matching, LLM-powered insights, persistent application data, and a unified application workspace.
Instead of relying on an LLM for everything, we use structured data and deterministic logic where consistency matters, and LLMs where reasoning and personalization add value.
Built, tested, and trusted.
IntelliApply has already been reviewed by 100+ users, helping us validate the idea with real people and real feedback as we shaped the product.
That feedback helped us move beyond building another AI demo and focus on something we would genuinely want to use ourselves.
Our Goal
We want to make the job search less fragmented, less overwhelming, and more informed.
Instead of switching between five different platforms, candidates should have one place to understand an opportunity, improve their application, track their progress, and prepare for what's next.
Spend less time figuring out the application process.
Spend more time preparing for the opportunity.
That's IntelliApply.
