Inspiration
Our inspiration come from seeing how hard it is for students, especially kids, to stay focused when distractions like phones and other objects are nearby
What it does
Intellekt is a smart study-assistant project that uses a camera to detect distractions like phones, food, or other objects during study time. When a distraction is detected, a robot reacts right away and gives feedback that can be customized using our website.
How we built it
The system uses a camera to identify distractions, a customizable website where users can add distraction categories and messages, and an Arduino-connected robot that reacts in real time when a distraction is detected.
Challenges we ran into
We struggled with connecting our camera detection software to our website and to the Arduino
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to connect aspects like robotics, computer vision, and a website all in one project. We are happy that our project is engaging and unique.
What we learned
We learned teamwork skills, web design, coding logic, object detection ideas, and Arduino integration.
What's next for Intellekt
With more resources we can upgrade our hardware to look better and add more customizable features to our website.
