Being checked and looked down upon by employers due to our online persona, is something that no one should stress about. We decided to create an application that anyone can use to highlight tweets that might potentially raise a red flag in the eyes of employers.
What it does
This application labels tweets that have the potential to ruin a job seeker's online image (such as pessimism, profanity, obscenity, bad spelling, and subjectivity) and allows you to go back and delete them to clean up your online image.
How we built it
We used sentiment analysis, machine learning, and natural language processing to analyze an account's tweets and identify tweets that an employer might not like to see on their page.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating the back-end with the front-end was difficult but our team persevered through it and got it done.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A majority of the team showed up significantly late so finding an idea and creating a working prototype with a really tight time constraint was a major accomplishment.
What we learned
This was our first immersive experience with machine learning, natural language processing, and sentiment analysis so during the course of the hackathon we developed a deeper understanding of the topics at hand.
What's next for persona.
Integrating a more seamless user interface while enabling the user to view more data involving their account.
